As the Midwest’s top Hip Hop choreographer and industry-level teaching, Jay-J is known for his innovative style and passion.
Jay-J choreographed the opening dance sequence for Pepsi Street Motion Tour and has opened for such popular music artists as Usher, Britney Spears, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys, Paul Wall, Brandy, MGK, and Carly Rae Jepsen. He has also worked with recording artist Cali Miles on the choreography for her newest album.
His talent and dedication has earned him a scholarship award to “Monsters of Hip Hop” in Chicago as well as being a three-year running scholarship winner to Urban Jamm in LA. Jay-J teaches at many highly established studios throughout the Midwest, including the Ohio-based studio featured on popular reality show, 'Dance Moms'.
Jay-J has done master and scholarship classes for organizations such as; All Ohio Dance Festival, Dance Masters of Ohio and the Ohio Committee of Cecchetti. J has also judged for many competitions and organizations throughout Ohio.
Jay-J started his dance training under the direction of Dance Master’s instructors taking jazz, modern, tap and ballet. He continued his education through dance artists such as;
(Jazz/Contemporary) Bob Rizzo, Frank Hatchett, Brian Friedman, Wade Robson, Robert Schultz, Mia Michaels, Kevin Maher, Tyce Diorio
(Hip Hop) Shane Sparks, Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo, Dave Scott, Rhapsody James, Luther Brown, Jeff 'Phi' Nguyen of Jabbawockeez, Popin' Pete
(Tap) Savion Glover, Gregg Russell and Mark Goodman
all of who are currently working in the dance industry at this time.
One of Jay-J’s highest attributes is his ability to work with children and adults of all ages from the beginner thru the most advanced. His classes are known for their high energy, though still maintaining a technical base and structured curriculum. His styles vary from street tap, break dance, funk jazz, pop-n-lock, krump, contemporary/lyrical and hip hop – all popular and current in today’s dance culture, media, music videos and television.
At Nadia's Dance Studio we teach Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern/Lyrical/Contemporary, and Hip Hop styles of dance. We welcome you, no matter what level of dancer you are!
If you are new to the studio, please be sure to read choosing the proper class for you or your child. I am committed to giving our students a well-rounded experience in an atmosphere of fun, while learning self-confidence and poise.
I look forward to teaching and inspiring you & your children in all of your dance endeavors!
